What 3Dhive collects, why, who else handles it, how long we keep it, and how to get a copy or have it deleted.
Interim plain-language version. In force from October 22, 2026, until the full policy reviewed by a lawyer replaces it, before real payments start.
Version privacy-2026-10-22
1. Who runs 3Dhive
3Dhive (my3dhive.com) is a marketplace where people order 3D prints from independent maker shops near them. It is run by [Operator's legal name and street address: to be added before payments start] ("3Dhive", "we").
3Dhive is in a private preview. Most of the site is behind an access PIN, and real payments haven't started. Some features on this page are built but not switched on yet. We mark them When switched on.
Questions about your data: support@my3dhive.com.
2. The short version
- You sign in with Google. We use your name and email address for your account, your orders and messages about them.
- The maker shop that makes your order gets what it needs to make it and hand it over or ship it. It never gets your email address or phone number.
- Companies that run parts of 3Dhive for us handle data for us. They're listed in section 5.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
- The site's own visit statistics set no cookies. They do keep searches typed into the command bar and, if you share it, your location rounded to about 10 km, for 190 days.
- To delete your account, use Delete account in your account menu, under Account details. To get a copy of your data, or if you can't sign in, email support@my3dhive.com.
3. What we collect and why
3.1 Your account
You sign in with Google. It's the only way to sign in. You need an account to buy, to sell and to download designs.
- From Google: your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID. Our sign-in service, Supabase Auth, keeps them with your account. 3Dhive uses your name and email address. It doesn't show or use your profile picture.
- Account type: whether you only buy, or also run a maker shop.
- Why: to sign you in, keep your orders and your shop together, and contact you about them.
3.2 Orders
- What you give at checkout: your name, a note for the maker shop, the shipping address for shipped orders, and a mobile number only if you tick text updates. Your email address comes from your account. We ship within the US only.
- Your own 3D files: if you upload a file to be printed, we store it and send it to the shop that accepts that part of your order.
- Where you are: your ZIP code, or your location if you tap "Use my location", finds shops near you and prices shipping. Your browser asks you first, and only when you tap.
- Food-contact items: we keep the version of the food-contact terms you ticked, with the order.
- Text updates: we keep the mobile number you give. No texts are sent today.
- Why: to make, hand over or ship your order, show it in your account and on Track an order, sort out problems and refunds, and keep payment records.
3.3 Payments
- You pay on Stripe's own checkout page: by card, with Cash App Pay, or from your bank through Link. Your card, Cash App or bank details go to Stripe (and to Cash App, when you pay with it) and never reach 3Dhive.
- We give Stripe your email address, the order number, and what you're buying with its price.
- When switched on If Stripe works out the sales tax, it also gets the address the order ships to.
- We keep the order's amounts and whether it was paid, held, released or refunded.
3.4 Messages, support and email
- Order messages between you and a shop, up to 1,000 characters each. Email addresses and phone numbers in a message are hidden before it's saved.
- Support requests: the topic, the order number, your messages and up to three photos.
- Newsletter: if you sign up, your account's email address and which sign-up wording you agreed to. If you unsubscribe, we keep a note that you did.
- When switched on Email: we email you about your order's steps, new messages and replies to your support requests. These emails never include the words of a message or your pickup code. Nothing is emailed today.
3.5 Maker shops
- Shop profile: shop name, city, an area on the map rounded to about 1 km, ZIP codes, pickup spot and hours, whether you ship, and your materials and colours. Your ZIP codes stay private. Buyers who choose pickup see your pickup spot and hours.
- Listings: the photos and 3D models you upload.
- Calibration print: the report the Printer Panel sends about your test print, kept as the record that your shop was checked.
- When switched on Payouts: Stripe sets up your payout account. You give your bank or debit card, identity and tax details to Stripe on its own pages, and 3Dhive never sees them. We give Stripe your email address and account ID, and we keep your earnings and payout records.
3.6 The Printer Panel (maker shops)
The Printer Panel is the Windows app maker shops install to connect their printers to 3Dhive. It has its own terms, shown in the app.
- When you link it: this computer's name, its operating system and the app's version.
- While it runs, every few seconds: each printer's name, model, status, temperatures, progress, the name of the file printing, errors, and a fingerprint of the printer. The fingerprint is a one-way code: we never get the printer's serial number or network address.
- Stays on your computer: your printers' network addresses, access codes and API keys, encrypted for your Windows account.
- Camera: the live view stays on your computer. Pictures go through our server only while you share a print with its buyer, or open that printer in the seller hub. They're passed on and never saved. We log when a share with a buyer starts and ends.
- Print files for your orders go to the app and are deleted from our storage a day after the print ends.
3.7 The command panel and help assistant
The bar at the bottom of the pages takes searches and questions.
- When switched on AI answers: what you type (up to 240 characters for a search, 400 for a question) goes to OpenAI, with what the page is showing. For a question about your own orders or shop, the page also sends a short summary it can already see: your name, account type, up to 10 recent orders, and your shop's name and status. We ask OpenAI not to store these requests. OpenAI may still keep them for a limited time to check for abuse, under its own policy.
- Our log: we keep what was typed and the answer shown for 180 days, to see how well the panel works. Email addresses, phone numbers and card numbers are taken out first. Each line is tied to your account, or to a one-way visitor key if you're signed out. Only the site owner can read it. The summary of your orders is never logged.
- Please don't type personal details into the bar.
3.8 Make your own When switched on
- You describe something to make, in 3 to 500 characters.
- OpenAI checks the description is allowed, plans the model and reviews the result. Autodesk Fusion builds the model, run from 3Dhive's own Autodesk account; Autodesk gets the building steps written from your description. For the building step, OpenAI may store the conversation under its own retention rules, because each step builds on the one before.
- We keep your description and the models and preview pictures made from it, with your account or a visitor ID. To limit free tries, we keep a one-way code made from your IP address.
- A design may be reused for someone else who types the same description. Don't put names or other personal details in a description.
- If you buy credits, Stripe gets your email address and account ID. We keep your credit balance and history, with the start of each description.
3.9 Site statistics
- Each page records: which page, how fast it loaded, what you click and where on the page, how far you scroll, which forms you send, errors, your device type (from the window's size), the site you came from, and your country (worked out by Cloudflare from your IP address).
- When you send a search from the command bar, its first 80 characters. When you send the contact form, its topic. Messages to a shop are never recorded.
- If you share your location on a page, your location rounded to about 10 km.
- A visit is grouped by a random ID for that browser tab. There's no cookie, and your IP address isn't stored.
- These records are kept 190 days. Daily totals without these details may be kept longer.
- There are no outside analytics or advertising tools on 3Dhive.
- Why: to see which pages work, which are slow, and what people look for.
4. Google user data
When you sign in with Google, Google shares with 3Dhive, through Supabase Auth: your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID. We don't ask Google for anything else. We get no access to your Gmail, contacts, calendar or files.
- How we use it: only to create and identify your 3Dhive account, show your name in your account, and contact you about your orders, your shop and your support requests.
- Where it's kept: with your account in our database at Supabase, until you delete your account.
- Sharing: we don't sell it, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't share it, except with the companies in section 5 that run 3Dhive for us, or when the law requires it.
- Our use of information received from Google follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
5. Who else handles your data
These companies run parts of 3Dhive for us. Each also has its own privacy policy. We share data with others only as this page describes, or when the law requires it.

6. What maker shops see
When you order, the shop making that part of your order sees:
- your name as you typed it at checkout, and your note;
- for a shipped order, the shipping address, once the shop has accepted the order;
- your own 3D file, once the shop has accepted that part;
- in order messages, your first name.
Shops never see your email address or phone number. For pickup, you show the shop your 6-digit pickup code. Reviews show your first name and last initial to everyone. Buyers see a shop's name, city and approximate area, and buyers who choose pickup see its pickup spot and hours.
7. Cookies and your browser
3Dhive sets three cookies of its own, and no advertising or analytics cookies. That's why there's no cookie banner.
| Cookie | What it's for | How long |
|---|---|---|
__Host-hive_sb_session | Keeps you signed in. It's encrypted, and pages can't read it. | 90 days after you last used 3Dhive, and never more than 365 days after you signed in |
__Host-hive_sb_oauth | Used while you sign in with Google. | 10 minutes |
__Host-3dhive-site | Remembers that you entered the private-preview PIN. Only while the preview lasts. | Until you close the browser, at most 12 hours |
Kept in your browser, not on our server: your cart, saved designs and lists, designs you looked at recently, your theme setting, your ZIP code and location rounded to about 1 km, the 3D files you add to your cart (removed 3 days later, or 60 days after an order), a copy of the site statistics events, and receipts of your recent orders, which include your email address, phone number and pickup codes. Signing out doesn't clear these yet. On a shared computer, clear 3Dhive's site data in your browser. A "forget this device" option is planned.
Other companies your browser contacts: Google (the font), Cloudflare (the code for 3D views), Mapbox (maps), and Stripe (its checkout page). Each has its own privacy policy.
8. How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Your account | Until you delete it |
| Orders, payments, earnings and payouts | 7 years, for tax and payment records. If you delete your account, they stay marked "Deleted account". |
| Your name, address, phone and note on an order | 180 days after the order ends |
| Order messages | 180 days after that part of the order ends |
| Support requests | 2 years after they're closed |
| Command panel log | 180 days |
| Site statistics | 190 days |
| Your own 3D files for printing | 3 days if you don't order; 60 days after the order ends |
| Printer Panel print history | Up to 2 years |
| Printer Panel activity log | 90 days |
| Print files sent to the Printer Panel | 1 day after the print ends |
| Log of camera shares with buyers | 30 days after the share ends |
| Make your own | Attempts 30 days; finished models and previews 180 days, unless you saved or ordered them |
| Emails waiting to be sent | 30 days after sending; 14 days if never sent |
Some of these clean-ups run on their own today. Others are still being built. Until they are, a few records may be kept longer: the copy of your contact details saved when you check out, closed support requests, and Make your own files. Email us and we'll delete them.
9. Copies, changes and deletion
- A copy of your data: email support@my3dhive.com from your account's email address. We put it together by hand and send it within 30 days. A "Download my data" button is planned.
- Changing it: your name and email address come from your Google account. Maker shops can edit their shop profile in the seller hub. For anything you can't change yourself, email us.
- Deleting your account: open your account menu, then Account details, then Delete account. It first lists anything still open: an order you placed that hasn't arrived, an order your shop still has to make, or money we still owe your shop. Those finish first. Then type DELETE to confirm: your account is deleted within a minute or two, always within 30 days, and you're signed out on every device. Can't sign in? Email support@my3dhive.com from your account's email address and we'll do it for you within 30 days. When an account is deleted:
- your name, email address, sign-in, address, phone number and contact details are removed;
- orders, earnings and payouts stay, marked "Deleted account", for 7 years, so the other side keeps its history and we keep tax and payment records;
- order messages and support requests stay without your name ("Former buyer" or "Former seller") until their normal time is up: 180 days after the order ends, and 2 years after a request closes;
- what you typed into the command panel is deleted;
- a maker shop, its listings, photos, models and Printer Panel links are deleted; its Stripe account ID is kept 7 years, for refunds and tax forms;
- Make your own credits, plan and designs are deleted, and a plan stops charging.
- Newsletter: email us to unsubscribe at any time.
- Location: your browser asks only when you tap "Use my location". You can say no and type a ZIP code.
- Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your data. Email us and we'll answer within 30 days.
10. Children
3Dhive isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child under 13 has given us data, email support@my3dhive.com and we'll delete it.
11. Security
- Card, Cash App and bank details are given on Stripe's page (or in Cash App) and never reach us.
- The sign-in cookie is encrypted, and pages can't read it.
- Printer access codes stay on the maker shop's computer.
- Our server answers only requests that come through 3Dhive's website.
No system is perfectly secure. If you find a problem, email support@my3dhive.com.
12. Changes to this page
When this page changes, we post the new version here with a new date and version ID. This interim version will be replaced by the full policy reviewed by a lawyer before real payments start.
